Fortune cookie

I went out for Chinese food last month and this was my fortune -

Your loyalty is a virtue, but when it's wedded to blind stubbornness.....

Huh?

I mean really. When did fortune cookies become so vague?

Looks like a bit of a grammar mess up. Replace "but" with "except when". And don't forget to add "in bed".

LOL, but doesn't this make it more real, somehow? We get to interpret our own fortunes.

I've gotten to the point that I ignore the fortune and just concentrate on the important part: the lottery numbers on the back! Your fortune cookies DO have lottery picks on them, don't they?

Oh, man. I miss fortune cookies.
They don't come with the Indonesian/Chinese restaurant food here. Bummer.
I think I will start writing fortunes myself. It seems there may be a future in it...

Maybe someone sued the Fortune Cookie company for their fortunes not coming true?? Now they are vague enough to avoid litigation.

LMAO

I don't know, actually I think that's a better fortune than the ones I usually get. "a garden always grows greener in spring" I mean, seriously? That's a fortune?

Maybe it doesn't translate from the Chinese? Or the fortune writer just got tired and lazy....
