Stopped for some fun

My organization is heading into the end of the legislative session and one of our most important bills is in a do-or-die situation. However, we all took a step back to reconnect as a group. There are days when I spend more time with my colleagues then my family. It is a good thing that our boss puts a premium on us having fun together once in a while.

So we closed the office for the day and everyone - including the grad school interns - went to a museum and sculpture park deep in the leafy suburbs. We had a picnic and played lawn games.

And Dominican Dominoes. That was a brutal game.

Sounds like fun! Ironically I was just thinking yesterday after a friend mentioned that she is moving how many of us (me before I was a mom) spend most of our time with our co-workers yet we move to a new job, we can so easily loose touch.

Those dominoes are cool.

Sounds like a great day. I'm still in contact with at least one co-worker from each of my jobs I held as an adult. And not in touch with some (thankfully).

What a fun day and how nice your office did that for all of you. Sounds like they care about their employees. (((HUGS)))

We reconnect where I work, too. Only we call it "Going out for a few drinks after work".

Glad you had some fun... Good luck with the "do-or-die" bill!
