A bit sick of it
So while I wrote last week that I was very happy to have rediscovered the Housemartins, I'm a bit sick of them right now. There are two problems with the Housemartins CD I've recently been given. One is that it starts to skip during the 6th song and nothing plays after that.
The second is that it is stuck in the car CD player. No other CD will play. I've listened to this CD repeatedly for weeks. Especially since it is little lady's favorite set songs right now.
It's a bit too happy in the van right now. Poor Jenn from Holland had to listen to the Housemartins all weekend in the van.
I'm lucky she didn't skip into the airport yesterday.

Is there a song you are a bit sick of? Have you driven away a dear friend with a song? Do tell...

I've been listening to Beatles for days now too...so I heard you. Can you not have the CD replaced?!
I love the beat of this song!!! Adding this to my MP3 list now!
Have a nice week ahead!
sounds like you need a new CD player. hopefully not a new car!
Nothing like forced assimilation. YOU WILL LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC..... forever... muahahahaha!
And seriously, h ow could Jenn skip into the airport when she's leaving you? ;)
Well, not me, but my DH's younger brother bought the 45 of "It's a Small World After All" at the 1964 World's Fair, when he was four. And played it. And played it. And played it. And, well, you get the idea! So... D buried it in his backyard where, presumably, it still resides.
All you need to do is hear It's a Small World After once and you get sick of it.
I recently got a Wilco CD stuck in the player in my van and was forced to listen to it for a month straight before I took it in to be fixed. I totally tired of it, but wasn't going to lower myself by listening to the local radio stations.
Turns out there were two CDs in there at the same time, which is a lesson on drinking and driving and needing to hear Wilco asap.
What a fun video. I love the dancing and Claymation!
Oh my goodness - NOW I know who the Housemartins are! Oh and poor you... all this "happy" stuff constantly would get to me. Absolutely.
Many moons ago, I had a Mary Chapin Carpenter cassette ("Come On, Come On") get stuck in the tape player in my car. Which wasn't all that bad, since I adore her and that album. But after a while, variety is nice.
Ha ha ha! Peppy!
I had a tape with two Love and Rockets albums stuck in my car for a long time. I have heard No New Tale to Tell more times than their roadies.
Augie March "Crowded Hour." I heard the last 30 seconds in the Vineyard a year ago and went on some crazy chase to find it. Found it. Listened to it. A lot.
I still think its a great, great song, but when I hear it now, I just feel like that crazy lady I was way. too. obsessed.
I'm so glad you two got to visit! JEALOUS, but happy. :)
Hey, I gave you some linkin luv at my place today. So go see!
I scared my mother when she got into my minivan, and the song that came on my CD player was from the Wu-Tang Clan.
She said, "I thought you would outgrow that horrible music when you had your own children."
She has been pushing the Manhattan Transfer on me since before I could talk.
Like I could ever skip away from you! And you made a mistype there, it should read LUCKY Jenn from Holland. Yup. That's what it should say!
